As Black History Month comes to an end, I joined Councillor Stephen Dasko to visit black-owned small business owners in Port Credit to chat about their experiences and check out their business.

Great meeting James Shipp and chatting about his experience in Canada from the U.S. and what Mississauga can do to help better support black business owners. James recently became a board member of the Port Credit BIA and I'm sure they will benefit from his insights.
Stavebank Florist has been a staple in Port Credit for 60 years! Great to see its owner, Mona, dedicate so much of her time to keeping the legacy of this business intact while Port Credit has undergone tremendous change over the past decade.
Tobmarc's owner Alice, has a passion of giving back to the community while promoting diverse cultures and heritages. She sells sustainable and ethically sourced products by artisans from Kenya and beyond. I encourage you to check out her store!
